GloriaFood is shutting down: what to use instead for your restaurant's online orders
GloriaFood ends its service on April 30, 2027. What happens to your orders, what to take with you and how to choose an alternative for orders and reservations, with an honest comparison of the options.
Sigital Team
If you use GloriaFood to take your venue's orders, there is one date to note: April 30, 2027. According to GloriaFood's official page, that is when the service reaches end of life. Oracle, which owns GloriaFood, says it has no direct replacement and points to FoodAmigos as a provider offering resources to restaurants that need to migrate.
There are months left, but it is not worth waiting for the last week: changing systems touches your menu, links, table QR codes and flyers, and the habits of your guests and staff.
This guide covers what to do first, how to choose the alternative and an honest comparison of the options Italian restaurateurs are considering.
What to do before you switch
Before choosing a new system, secure what you have built.
- Copy the full menu: categories, products, prices, variants (sizes, doughs, extras), allergens and photos. Even a PDF or screenshots are a good starting point.
- Write down your ordering settings: pickup and delivery hours, delivery zones and fees, minimum order, preparation times.
- List everywhere your ordering link is published: website, Instagram, Facebook, Google profile, printed QR codes, flyers, stickers on pizza boxes.
- Check your customer data: see in your dashboard which data you can export and keep it in line with the consent your guests gave.
The step everyone forgets
Your ordering link is printed in places you don't remember: pizza boxes, window stickers, takeaway menus. Make the list now, so on switch day you know what to reprint.
How to choose the alternative
There is no "best alternative" for everyone. It depends on what you used GloriaFood for and what you need today. These are the questions to ask:
- Commission on orders: do you pay a percentage per order or a flat fee? With many orders the difference is large.
- Online payments: does the money come straight to you? Which methods are accepted (cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, cash on delivery)?
- Table reservations: do you need them in the same system or do you manage them elsewhere?
- Table ordering: should guests order and pay from the table with a QR code, or are pickup and delivery enough?
- Till and printer: do you need an integration with your till or a kitchen printer?
- Language and support: are the dashboard and support available in your language?
- Migration: who loads the menu? Do you enter it item by item, or is it imported for you?
The alternatives compared
We looked at the options that come up most often when an Italian restaurateur searches for a GloriaFood replacement. Descriptions come from their websites in October 2026; prices change often, so always check them on the provider's site.
| Solution | What it offers (according to its website) | Published prices |
|---|---|---|
| Sigital (Italy) | Digital menu, online ordering for pickup and delivery, reservations with floor plan, branded app as an add-on | Yes: Free €0 (menu only), Premium €60/month, Business €99/month per venue |
| Plateform (Italy) | Reservations, online ordering, digital menu, waitlist, marketing, phone system | Pricing page without figures; a free plan exists |
| Mobee (Italy) | Branded app for delivery, pickup and table ordering, no commission on orders | On a separate page; free plan up to 20 orders a month |
| Flipdish (Ireland) | Branded ordering website and app, POS, kiosks, kitchen screens | No: demo on request |
| FoodAmigos (Germany) | Online ordering; pointed to by Oracle with resources for restaurants leaving GloriaFood | Check on their site |
There are also solutions tied to a till (for example from SumUp, Tilby or Cassa in Cloud) with ordering modules: they make most sense if you already use that till.
When Sigital is a good fit
Sigital is built for Italian pizzerias, restaurants and takeaways that want direct orders and bookings under their own brand:
- 0% platform commission on orders and bookings; online payments only carry Stripe's fees and the money goes to the restaurant's own Stripe account. Guests can also pay on delivery.
- Pickup and delivery orders with day and time slot, delivery zones and instant new-order alerts.
- Reservations with a floor plan and email or WhatsApp confirmations, in the same dashboard.
- Migration without retyping everything: message us on WhatsApp and send the menu as a photo, a PDF or a Glovo/Just Eat link; the assistant imports products, prices and categories.
- 14-day trial of the Business plan, no credit card.
When you need something else
To be fair, this is what Sigital does not do today:
- no table ordering from the QR code: the QR opens the menu, online orders are pickup and delivery;
- it is not a till and does not integrate with POS systems;
- no deposit on reservations.
If those features are essential for you, look at solutions such as Mobee (table ordering) or the ones tied to a till.
A simple roadmap
There is no need to wait for April 2027. A calm path looks like this:
- Now: copy menu and settings, list where your link is published.
- In the coming weeks: try one or two alternatives with your real menu and place a few test orders.
- Before switching: prepare the new QR codes and tell your regulars (a message, a sign at the counter, a note in the bag).
- On switch day: update website, social profiles and Google profile; keep the old system running for a few days until you are sure everything works.
- Afterwards: gradually replace QR codes and printed materials.
